The mainstream specifications of thin-walled nickel titanium cold-rolled pipes can be divided into three parts: outer diameter (OD), wall thickness (WT), and length (L). The common intervals and tolerances are as follows:
Outer diameter OD: commonly used range, 0.15 mm~16.0 mm; Typical tolerances: ≤ 2 mm: ± 0.002 mm; 2-5 mm: ± 0.01 mm;>5 mm: ± 0.05 mm; medical grade can reach 0.15 mm, industrial grade can reach 16.0 mm.
Wall thickness WT: commonly used range, 0.025 mm~3.0 mm; Typical tolerance, ± 0.003 mm (≤ 0.1 mm); ±10%(>0.1 mm); The minimum size can reach 0.025 mm, suitable for high flexibility requirements.
Length L: Common range, 50 mm~6000 mm; Typical tolerance, ± 1 mm (short tube); ± 5 mm (long tube); Medical devices commonly use 100-300 mm, and industrial tubes can be up to 6000 mm in length.
Differences in medical and industrial specifications
Medical grade: The outer diameter is mostly concentrated between 0.15-5.0 mm, the wall thickness is 0.025-0.5 mm, the length is 100-300 mm, the dimensional accuracy is extremely high (± 0.002 mm), the surface roughness is low (outer surface Ra ≤ 0.1 μ m, inner surface Ra ≤ 0.6 μ m), in compliance with ASTM F2063 and GB 24627 standards, suitable for cardiovascular stents, interventional catheters, dental instruments, etc.
Industrial grade: outer diameter 5-16mm, wall thickness 0.1-3.0mm, length up to 6000mm, slightly lower accuracy than medical grade (± 0.05-0.1mm), mainly used for structural components such as aerospace, robot joints, precision instruments, etc.

Selection suggestions
1. Determine the purpose: medical or industrial, determining the requirements for dimensional accuracy and surface quality.
2. Matching dimensions: The outer diameter, wall thickness, and length must meet both the working conditions and equipment conditions simultaneously.
3. Confirm tolerance: For precision applications, it is recommended to choose a tolerance level of ± 0.002-0.01 mm.
4. Verification criteria: Medical use must comply with ASTM F2063 or GB 24627.
If you need to customize ultra-thin wall (≤ 0.025 mm) or ultra large aspect ratio (L/OD ≥ 200) nickel titanium cold-rolled pipes, you can communicate with our Wuge nickel titanium alloy materials in advance to confirm the feasibility of the process and delivery cycle.
We will match the production process for you based on your specific use (medical/industrial), target outer diameter, wall thickness, length, and accuracy requirements.
