Nickel titanium alloy wire has shape memory characteristics, and its bending and shaping require specific methods and steps. The following is a general operation process:
1. Preparation of tools: Suitable bending tools such as pointed nose pliers, tweezers, etc. need to be prepared. Choose the corresponding tool according to the diameter and hardness of the nickel titanium alloy wire to ensure that the tool can apply sufficient force to bend the alloy wire without causing damage to the surface of the alloy wire.
2. Measurement and design: Before bending, it is necessary to measure and mark the position and angle of the nickel titanium alloy wire that needs to be bent according to actual needs. If there are specific shape requirements, detailed design and planning are needed, and measuring tools such as calipers can be used to ensure the accuracy of dimensions.
3. Heating: Nickel titanium alloy wire is easier to bend and shape when heated. Generally, heating equipment such as hot air guns and furnaces are used to heat nickel titanium alloy wires to the appropriate temperature range. For common nickel titanium alloys, the heating temperature is usually around 400 ℃ -500 ℃, but the specific temperature may vary slightly depending on the alloy composition and performance requirements. When heating, pay attention to uniform heating to avoid local overheating that may cause changes in alloy properties.
4. Bending operation: When the alloy wire reaches the predetermined temperature, quickly use the prepared tool to bend it according to the marked position and angle. The operation process should be fast and accurate, and the bending should be completed in one go as much as possible to avoid repeatedly bending the same part and causing damage to the alloy wire. If complex shapes need to be made, they can be bent step by step, ensuring that the shape meets the design requirements at each step.
5. Cooling and shaping: After bending, let the nickel titanium alloy wire cool naturally in the air or use rapid cooling methods (such as water cooling) to shape it. Natural cooling can make the internal structure of the alloy fully stable, but it requires a longer time; Water cooling can quickly fix the shape, but it may affect certain properties of the alloy to some extent. The specific cooling method can be selected according to the actual situation.
6. Inspection and adjustment: The cooled nickel titanium alloy wire may have some minor deformations or deviations, which need to be inspected and adjusted. Measuring tools can be used to check whether the bending angle and size meet the requirements. For areas that do not meet the requirements, they can be reheated for fine-tuning.
During the entire bending and shaping process, operators need to wear protective equipment such as gloves and goggles to prevent burns and injuries caused by alloy wire splashes. Meanwhile, due to the sensitivity of the performance of nickel titanium alloy wire to processing technology, it is recommended to conduct some experiments before formal processing to determine the optimal processing parameters and process methods.
